Coach, Got my blue belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu last night. This was a long journey for me. The training at the FitPit has been a great asset in helping to reach that goal. Thanks again.

I went back to Atlanta this past weekend to visit some family and decided to go on a run in my old neighborhood. I used to dread running there because the hills are very steep and they would take so much out of me. Even though I haven’t been running much lately, I have never felt better than I did this weekend. I even went twice as far as I normally would and probably at a faster pace. It was a great feeling to have such a clear indicator that my fitness has improved since joining the gym.

I had a personal best at the Jackson County Triathlon last weekend. I took 1 minute 49 seconds off of my previous best time. I definitely feel adding work at the Fit Pit was a major contributor. I am stronger and more flexible which improves the run, bike and swim. Core workouts is a contributor. Thanks Dean and Sheryl!

I just want to thank you so much for making me feel so welcome at the Fit Pit. I have fallen in love with it quickly. Dean and Sheryl are amazing and wonderful inspiration to me. Being at the Fit Pit is the best part of my week. I love that you encourage and push me. Thank you for all you are doing!

From my first workout, I was hooked. The workouts are intense and difficult, but the words of encouragement from the fellow athletes and coaches make all the difference. I am continually impressed by the support and comraderie among the group. Each time, I leave feeling physically stronger and more mentally in tune with the power I have in my own body. After only one month, I can do more push-ups, pull-ups and use more weight in the other exercises than I thought would ever be possible. The bottom line, the people are amazing, the gym is clean, and the results speak for themselves when I look in the mirror.

Shane has been working out with Dean since December of ‘08. Before Shane started working out with Dean he played multiple sports from wrestling and basketball to soccer and boxing. So you can see that he is a kid that was active. One day after coming home from school he told me and his mom, Marigold, that he wanted to do some training that will make him stronger and faster. Since going to the FIT PIT and training with Dean, Shane has gained so much confidence in himself and his body. Dean created realistic workouts that push Shane in ways he didn’t think he could do! He was doing the same workouts as the adults were but at his level and with Dean’s Guidance. The FIT PIT has been awesome for Shane and he says it all the time. Everyone at the FIT PIT welcomes you in and encourages you as you workout. The atmosphere has a positive energy once you enter. Dean shows you proper technique and form, the correct weight (if you use it), and then helps push you to achieve your goals. There are not many kids out there that can say they would run 400 yards, do 250 jump ropes(2x), 20 pull-ups, 20 burpees, then another 400 yard run, 20 box jumps, 20 lunge jumps, 40 push-ups, 500 meter row, and then 50 squat jumps in one workout session… BUT there is one that I can say who is willing and determined to challenge himself and that is Shane. That is the type of confidence and determination Dean has instilled in Shane which he was missing and has found, there is nothing shane cant do at the Fit Pit and is always willing to take on new challenges. Shane is always ready for a new workout session with Dean and gets disappointed if we can’t make a session. His soccer development has also been better with his exploding after the skill (How many times we hear that at practice? ), faster foot work, power shots, quickness improvement, and his balance (still working on it but great improvement). Since noticing Shane’s development, I have also started to workout at the fit pit. I enjoy working out with Shane and vice versa, pushing one another. Of course, I can’t forget the muscle aches 2 days later reminding me that I am getting a great workout. Jace our youngest at 7 yrs old has also worked out with Dean in recent weeks and enjoys the challenge and we have seen his quickness improve. Give it a try! I am sure you will see for yourself how great it is to workout at the Fit Pit with Dean and you will notice you kid wanting to go to a workout. One last thing as Dean would say “It’s hard, it hurts” BUT it works!”
